about Us
McMaster’s HanVoice chapter began in 2019 when a group of students came together passionate about human rights for North Korean refugees. Today, it is one of 16 HanVoice Chapters across Canada who advocate for a Canadian solution to the North Korean refugee crisis. Through educational events, blog articles, and social media posts, we've been working to educate our community on issues surrounding North Korea and the obstacles faced by defectors. We are also proud to be one of the many chapters that supports HanVoice in their historic new sponsorship pilot program which allows North Korean refugees to resettle in Canada. Our goal is to educate our community on North Korea and help defectors obtain the resources they need to live free and healthy lives.
